Steve,

Spot on commentary (and I love the cartoon, needs to be a sales slide!)

The issue in my opinion, (which we have discussed), boils down to industry cross training and education.

The benchmark technology is the network infrastructure. Understand the future direction of network technologies and you are positioned to win.

One problem seems to be that physical security integrators do not understand these issues (especially network security or even the bandwidth capabilities visa via video)

One the flip side, IT integrators do not have physical security subject matter experts in video implementations, access control, etc.

Both camps need to upgrade skills fast to install hybrid security networks, moving our legacy security infrastructures to embrace the digital world. IP networks and wireless deployments are accelerating the need to have the IT and physical security integrators partnering to benefit larger end users that want operational advantages (shared information) and R.O.I. - both great benefits of PSIM.

Cross training and partnering will drive PSIM installations. Recognizing the ELEPHANT as a sales opportunity is the first step in the process.
